Hello, OASNP Members in DD Locals,

While the role of members in County Boards of DD has undergone major changes over the last several years, those providing the valuable and needed services to the people served in these programs carry on doing their very best.

OASNP members in DD locals are still a major part of the department and OASNP leadership has continued to try to advocate and provide support to all members working with special needs students and adults.  But dwindling numbers in the DDs have meant fewer people being involved in OASNP and therefore less ability to be sure our efforts are relevant and focused.

The annual OASNP Conference, this year on April 25-26, is one way to ensure that the needs of DD members are addressed.  There is still time to sign up for the conference, which is in a new venue this year – centrally located in Columbus.  The sessions are a mix of union and professional topics and will appeal to everyone. There is also time for networking and socializing.  We encourage you to join other OASNP members and take advantage of the benefits of the conference.  This helps to ensure that OASNP is doing everything possible to support all members, including those working in the DDs.
